                                                  About Us

Big Brothers Big Sisters is America’s leader in one-to-one youth mentoring service, with over a century of proven success in creating positive friendships that benefit children, volunteers, families, neighborhoods and communities! Our program is based upon the concept of a professionally matched and monitored friendship between a caring adult and a child at risk.

The children we serve, primarily from single-parent families, are those most vulnerable to the negative influences of their environment. A parent or other caring adult in the child’s life must recognize that Big Brothers Big Sisters offers options and gives the “Little” hope for a brighter future.

Carefully screened, trained and committed volunteers are recruited from our community to be “Bigs.” Information is gathered and evaluated on the Big and the Little before making the match. Case management staff make and monitor each match to ensure that attention is appropriately focused on each individual child’s needs and safety.
