Get Involved: Enroll a Child
Big Brothers and Big Sisters are adults who say, “Yes, you can!” to a child. They are the grown-ups we knew during childhood who took the time to listen, taught us how to skate, cheered us on to score the winning goal or consoled us when things went wrong. Big Brothers and Big Sisters are caring volunteers who provide children with responsible friendships, supported and guided by our case management staff.
Eligibility:

Eligibility:
Before enrolling a child, all parents and guardians are asked to please read Our Programs and the Enroll a Child FAQs (frequently asked questions) carefully. These will help you better understand the programs we offer. Please note:
- The child must be at least 6 years old and not have passed his/her 14th birthday for the Community-Based Program or 17th birthday for the Faith-Based Programs at time of enrollment
- He/she must be capable of relating to and developing a friendship with a volunteer who is a caring adult but not a trained specialist or youth development professional
- The custodial parent/guardian of the child is the only person permitted to enroll a child and must support the child’s participation in a Big Brothers Big Sisters’ program
- Not all children referred to the program will be accepted. Our programs are volunteer and donor supported and our ability to make matches depends on having the right resources available at the right time and in the right place to meet a child’s needs.
